The state's Sports Minister Anil Vij on Friday disclosed that among the 20 sportspersons, there are 11 women waiting to showcase their prowess in the quadrennial extravaganza in Brazil.
Among the 20, four will participate in athletics events, two are boxers, six wrestlers and the remaining eight are hockey players.
"We hope that sportspersons of Haryana would give outstanding performance and bring laurels to the state and the country," Vij said.

He said the 11 female players from the state who would participate in various competitions include-:

Athletes-:
1- Nirmala Sheoran of Bhiwani in 400 metres.
2- Seema Antil of Sonipat in discus throw.
Wrestlers-:
1- Vinesh Phogat of Bhiwani in 48kg weight category.
2- Babita Kumari, also of Bhiwani, in 53kg.
3- Sakshi Malik of Rohtak in 58kg.
Women are hockey players-:
1- Savita Punia of Sirsa.
2- Poonam Malik of Hisar.
3- Monika Malik of Sonepat.
4- Rani Rampal and Navjot Kaur of Kurukshetra.
5- Deepika Thakur, the vicecaptain, of Yamunanagar.

Athletes-:
1- Sandeep Kumar of Mahendragarh will take part in the 50 km walk.
2- Inderjeet Singh of Bhiwani in Shot-put. Indian shot putter Inderjeet Singh fails doping test*
3- Dharmbir Singh of Rohtak in 200 metres.
Boxers-:
1- Manoj Kumar of Kaithal in 64kg.
2- Vikas Krishan Yadav of Gurgaon in 75kg.
Wrestlers-:
1- Yogeshwar Dutt of Sonipat in 65kg.
2- Ravinder Khatri of Jhajjar in 85kg.
3- Hardeep Singh of Jind in 98kg.
